It is difficult being a parent of a child with Systemic Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. She really doesn’t blink an eye at the shot of Anakinra every morning. We are just happy to share our story with you a couple times a month, especially if you are also a parent with a child with Arthritis. It is our goal to give you some insight in our journey, and also some hope that everything will be OK.

Hannah asked if Dad if he would participate in the Warrior Run at her school today.

This is a 1 mile run, designed to promote fitness at her school.

Just a side note: The daily Anakinra shot allows Hannah to function like any other 3rd grader.

Hannah received her blue belt today in Karate. She is now 1/2 way through to becoming a Black Belt.

The daily Anakinra shot is working, sometimes she says that her joints are sore, but seems to work through it.

Happy Valentine’s Day from “DAD”.

We went back to the Dr’s Office at Children’s Mercy this week.

Dr. Kessler ordered new blood labs today, so we were waiting in the lobby of the lab to get some blood drawn … watching old Tom and Jerry Cartoons. We were suprised that Hannah was drawn into the old cartoons.

Since Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City is close to Crown Center, we took Hannah over for lunch and found a life-sized Lego Girl in the lobby.
